Publish Date 2025-05-10
On March 27, 2025, the Shanghai Steel Pipe Industry Association convened its 2nd Member Congress of the 7th Session at the Dongwu Hall of the Huzhou Kaiyuan Dongwu Hotel. The event saw participation from 119 member units, representing over two-thirds of the association's more than 160 member units, making all resolutions passed during the meeting valid.

The congress reviewed the "2024 Work Report and 2025 Main Work Plan" presented by President Shen Genrong, the "2024 Financial Audit Report and 2025 Financial Budget Report" delivered by Vice President Zhang Jian, and the "2024 Work Report and 2025 Main Work Plan" by supervisor Xu Xinli representing the board of supervisors. The attending representatives unanimously approved these three reports through a show of hands.

The congress also addressed proposals submitted by the 2nd Council of the 7th Session to elect Shanghai Yilang Alloy Materials Co., Ltd., Jinyi Machinery Equipment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., and Hangzhou Dongcheng Electronic Equipment Co., Ltd. as council members. Additionally, Liu Xiaopei from Yilang Alloy, Zhang Yixi from Jinyi Machinery, and Chen Changlin from Dongcheng Electronics were individually nominated as council members, followed by a secret ballot election.

Election procedures were announced, and a chief inspector and inspectors were appointed. A total of 119 ballots were distributed and returned, with 118 valid votes and one invalid vote; 117 votes endorsed the proposals. Consequently, the three newly elected council members were successfully appointed, and association leaders presented them with copper plaques and membership certificates. The congress also conducted a plaque presentation ceremony for the newly elected vice-presidential unit.

In his closing remarks, Party Branch Secretary Gong Hongliang acknowledged the work of the new leadership and secretariat over the past year. He emphasized that in 2025, the association would adhere to Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, strengthen party leadership, and aim to elevate the association's efforts. To achieve this, he proposed: firstly, to consciously align with standards and ensure a clear direction; secondly, to maintain a broad perspective and embrace responsibilities; and thirdly, to enhance party-building leadership to ensure robust organizational development. He encouraged all members to remain confident, face challenges head-on, and work together to elevate the Shanghai steel pipe industry to new heights.

On the afternoon of March 26, prior to the member congress, the association held the 3rd Council meeting of the 7th Session in the Huzhou Hall of the same hotel, attended by 32 council units, which accounted for over two-thirds of the council's member units, thus validating the resolutions passed during the meeting.

The 3rd Council meeting reviewed and approved the work report for 2024 and the financial audit report for 2024, as well as the agenda for the 2nd Member Congress of the 7th Session. It also included discussions of the board of supervisor's 2024 work report and introductions of new member units for 2024.
